published on July 3rd, 2006 . by Vanaja

A snail climbs up at the rate of 2 feet per hour throughout the day and falls down half the distance in the night. How much time will it take to reach the top of a pillar 60 feet height?

Answer:

5 days. (day time 12 hours. So it climbs 2. 12=24 feets. But in the night falls down by 12 feets. So total distance covers in a day is 12 fetes. So number of days required is 60 by 12=5days.
